Beijing Palace restaurant branding

Beijing Palace

New identity receives the royal treatment

The Beijing Palace is a Chinese restaurant in Nutbourne, West Sussex specialising in Peking & Sze Chuan cuisine. Designbooth were asked to modernise their identity to reflect their contemporary approach to asian cuisine while avoiding clichés. The new restaurant identity had to work across all media; menus, website, social media and signage.

The new Beijing Palace identity and logo uses the typeface GT Eesti and includes a custom-drawn Chinese character to match. The character, 皇 (Huáng) simply means ‘emperor’—the Beijing Palace was the traditional residence of the Emperor of China.
